Whether you're shopping for yourself or trying to find a meaningful baby shower gift, you're in the right place. Give the gift of freedom with this portable high chair.
As new parents, we suddenly weren't sure if we'd be welcome in breweries, wineries, restaurants, or pubs with our kid, or even if we should be going to some of these places with our baby. But like all parents, we needed time out of the house where we could feel "human" and connect over good food and drinks in a fun atmosphere. The truth is, we aren't welcome at ALL the same places we used to go, and that's been a hard pill to swallow. Have you had a hard time with this too?
Some places simply aren't prepared to host kids or babies. They don't have the "stuff" necessary to make families comfortable. However, many of these places are happy to host you in if you're okay with bringing in what you need.
*Check out our Instagram highlights for some of our favourite family friendly eateries around Vancouver. They are all welcoming to families, even if they don't have all of the supplies parents may need.
In our experience, the most important thing to have is a portable high chair. It gives you the freedom to go wherever you please with your baby (assuming the kids allowed in!). We use the the Inglesina Portable high chair and we've found it to be great.
Breweries, pubs, restaurants, wineries, friends houses, families houses, parks, camping...where you want to go, it goes! What we love about this chair: , and has a great design that is easy to attach, and detach from the table. When not in use, it is quite compact tucked away in it's bag. Here are some fun facts:
We take our chair everywhere and our son loves it. We didn't purchase the tray, we just use a plate, and he is happy as a clam right there with us. It's fantastic. We actually love our chair so much that we often bring it into places that offer their own chairs. We have noticed that our son is much happier in this particular chair. The traditional wooden high chairs that most restaurants have do the job, but they aren't very comfortable...especially if you have a smaller baby, or your baby is still developing their strength. Fun fact: Before getting a portable high chair, we used the wooden chairs and had to surround our son in blankets so he wouldn't slump over because he was so tiny! Not comfy!
What's the best thing about this chair?
It gives us freedom. With this chair we can go wherever we please. But not quite whenever we please... There is a bit more to the story. We have spent the last year and a half learning by trial and error, and relentlessly asking questions to experienced parents. We have sorted through it all, and found there are three main things to consider before eating out with kids.
