Nando's Langley
Happy Details
Nando’s Langley is a great family friendly restaurant where you can relax with your kids over some excellent South African cuisine. We love that they have tons of options that allow you to choose super healthy, fresh, flavourful food, even from the Kid’s menu.
We went for dinner on a Saturday night at 6:30pm, right in the height of their dinner rush, and way too close to our son’s bedtime (can you say cranky?). We pretty much knew we were asking for trouble, but the bustling, warm, and casual atmosphere of Nando’s helped us out big time. We went in knowing our order (clutch when you’re with a ticking time bomb/toddler).

Places with counter service aren’t my first choice when eating out with kids, but if there’s extra hands to help then it’s usually fine. In this case is was great. Nemer ordered, grabbed our utensils, condiments, and beer, and we settled in to a cozy booth with a high chair for our son.
We admired the light fixtures, and the art on the wall, and wished we would have followed our own advice of bringing in a small toy for C to play with, but soon enough our food arrived.
Our little family of three has our own money saving hack for Nando’s. We order the ½ chicken dinner with two sides for $16.45, and share. Nemer and I both get a huge piece of chicken, and share part of that with our son. If we’re exceptionally hungry, or lacking self control, we add an extra side for $4 (pictured is two sides of peri-fries and one side of sauteed peri-vegetables), but we don’t need it.
Whatever the case, three full, happy people leave Nando’s for under $30, including beer. The only downfall of sharing off our plates is that we can’t order the chicken as spicy as we like.

If you don’t want to compromise on spice, then rest assured that the Kid’s menu is full of healthy options and can be as flavourful as your child likes. Or you could order one of their family dinner options to share. All this family friendly food is sure to keep both parents and kids happy.
