We love Indian food, and were intrigued by the idea of their “Build your Own Burroti Bowls”. We were officially hooked when we found out that kids under twelve eat free Monday-Friday after 4pm and all day Saturdays and Sundays (with the purchase of a Bowl or Wrap and bottled drink).

This is such a great way to introduce new flavours to your kids, and maybe even to yourself. You control what goes into your bowl, and it can be as plain, or as spicy as you like it. It’s totally customizable and you can always put sauce or chutney on the side to be safe.
E loved picking her meal, and it was so refreshing to see a kid’s menu with solid, healthy options. She had the choice of a free kid's bowl, or a free kid's salad. She chose a kid’s bowl with Tandoori chicken and basmati rice. For veggies she chose cucumber, lettuce, and tomato, asked for no sauce, but had raita as a topping. Next time she says she’d like to try one of the sauces. We’re happy to hear that!
The kid’s menu came with a juice box, and a Ladoo bite which is an energy ball with peanut butter, oats, honey, coconut, Skor chips, and M&Ms. E loved every bit of it, and we appreciated that it was a relatively healthy treat.

Stef had the bowl with steak and brown rice. She added all the veggies offered and was super happy to see pickled onion as an option (she seriously loves pickled red onion!). With so many sauces to choose from she decided on the classic Butter sauce, a mild choice, and the Tikka Masala sauce, a medium heat for a little kick. The Cilantro Chutney, and cooling Raita topped off her bowl. The verdict? Stef says, “Very yummy, very fresh, and very filling. If you decide to go try it out, I insist you try the pickled onion, and the Cilantro Chutney. These are two musts in my bowl building opinion”.
I decided to get a meat free bowl. I split my protein between Tandoori Tofu, and Garbanzo Beans, then chose brown rice, all the fresh veggies, Tikka Masala sauce, and topped it off with the Cilantro and Tamarind Chutneys. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. It did cross my mind that all my choices mixed together would turn out crazy, but the staff were super helpful and offered their opinion when asked for advice. I felt like I was in good hands, and my taste buds agreed.
All in all, this was a great cheap and healthy meal that pleased us all. We’ll be back, and look forward to trying some of their fun sides like the Lion fries (Masala fries topped with butter sauce, pickled onions, cilantro, jalapenos, and creamy habanero sauce), and Samosa Chaat (Samosas layered in toppings and chutney). All that’s missing is an ice cold beer!
